Max, I insist that you finally give some teeth to your edicts. If you're unwilling or unable to compel Eric to comply with the same rules I have obeyed to the letter, then there's no point in having a Judge at all, for a law without enforcement is vestigal and flaccid.
I have scrupulously complied with every single one of your mandates throughout the year. If it turns out that Eric has flaunted the same rules I have obeyed, and you have done nothing to stop him, then your entire tenure becomes a farce.
You have an option, you have recourse. You are fully capable of disallowing any meat that has not been reported in compliance with your demands. If Eric has indeed been concealing meat despite your madates for disclosure both in September and Thanksgiving, then he is mocking you. You may simply say, "a mandate is a mandate," but if you don't enforce it with "and when I say declare, then anything left undeclared is inadmissable," there's no point in the mandates at all.
Eric is simply using you to get me to show my cards while keeping his secret. This is unfair. So far your judgeship has only ever served to hurt me and help him. It's just not right. I insist that you redress the balance.
If you can't get him to come clean, and play by whatever whimsical rules YOU set, rather than by his own, then I will once again walk away from this contest, this time for good, and never look back.
It's up to you to be a man about being a Judge. It's a responsibility you accepted. I hope you step up to the platre this time.
