Opportunity stops knocking

Went to have pizza with "S" and "D" and whoever else again tonight. Saturday tradition. This evening's guest stars were Ian and his wife, whose name I forget, from Cheshire.

They'd just showed up two days before in Lodeve and bought Graham's house (aka house #3) on a spur-on-the-moment.

Incredible.

Here we are, visiting property after property, spending weeks, months, looking, and these two show up and find what they're looking for right away? But I guess what they were looking for was immediately available, while we're looking for something a little trickier, apparently, to find. There were so many reasons we didn't buy that house; but still, the fact that someone else saw such a treasure in it must make me wonder if we're being too strict in our assessments of the properties we're seeing?

In the end, of course, I have to conclude that we're all just looking for different things. But still, I wish it were that easy for us all, a three-day deal.

Jeesh.
